In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Asheville; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in North Carolina are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
Hours are published for 6 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11 amβ9 pm. It is closed on Monday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (828) 298-1887. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.
With 3.8 out of 5 on Google from 196 reviews, it sits in the middle of the range for chinese restaurants in Asheville. Recent reviews are the best guide.
Asheville is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. I dont understand the negative reviews.. The lady on the phone was professional and nice! The food was the right price and honestly cheap compared to other places in Ashville! Big portions and filled to the top!! It was delicious and will definitely be returning!!! The people of Ashville ( potentially tourist) are so entitled they expect everyone to hold their hands through everything...

The food was honestly disgusting. Not our go to Chinese restaurant, but ours was closed so we decided to give this place a shot. We ordered boneless spare ribs, pork fried rice, an order of chicken wings and general tsoβs chicken with lo mein. The chicken wings were bright yellow on the inside, I donβt know if thatβs due to reused oil or the seasoning that was used however it was a huge turnoff and it was good at all. The spare ribs were ALL fat I got maybe 3 good pieces of meat thatβs about it. My husband absolutely hated the general tsoβs chicken, didnβt eat more than three pieces. Honestly only good things were the rice, but to be fair itβs not hard to make rice. I attached photos of the food in the trash because Iβm not exaggerating!

Hitting these folks with the 5/5 because I absolutely love American-chinese hole in the walls like this. No, there is not indoor seating... I rated the atmosphere a 5 due to all of the pictures were fading out (exactly what you want in this situation) I ordered a pint of egg drop soup, teriyaki chicken combo, sesame chicken, crab Rangoon's and then asked the lady "what dish do you recommend I try at the moment?" She asked me what I like and I say chicken/shrimp, she says Kung Pao chicken! Without hesitation... A good sign, I say yes, add shrimp too and make it spicy! I kid you not all the dishes above were great, not too greasy, full of flavor and execution wise *chefs kiss* I will be back and I recommend this place to the Fairview locals looking for a fair priced easy out for lunch/dinner.

Came here on a holiday when nothing else was open so wasnβt expecting anything crazy. The food much like other reviews kind of says it all. Itβs more of a basic get the job done scenario. The dumplings were way over battered and the pork fried rice needed quite often but if seasoning. The staff is friendly there isnβt a dine in option. The egg rolls though were tasty. Cheers!!

The food was ok, the pork and the noodles tasted old and doesn't taste good. Need more fresh ingredients, the scallops was chewy in Happy Family, some of the vegetables was not cooked fully. I was disappointed.
